Frequently asked questions.

What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a Nutritionist?

Nutritionist is an unregulated term, meaning that anyone and everyone can call themselves that, even without any formal education or training. Simply put, there are no requirements to call oneself a Nutritionist.

Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist has met the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, including a Didactic Program in Dietetics (a Master’s degree will be required in 2024)

  • 1200 hours of supervised practice

  • A national registration exam

  • 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years

RD’s are qualified nutrition professionals who use evidence-based methods in their respective fields to best treat their clients/patients.

What can I expect when working with Be Well Nutrition?

  • You will be provided with individualized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations that best suit your needs.

  • We will evaluate your progress and work towards your goals, making any adjustments needed during follow-up visits.

  • If you participate in a sport, you can expect weight class-specific recommendations and “game day” nutrition planning.

  • You will build self efficacy to continue thriving independently with the knowledge you’ve gained from each session.
